What does it mean to "recall"?.
what do you think it means?
And i called apple, they basically told me tough luck right now and i will have to wait basically till tomorrow to check the website because they are still updating it
Because the tech tried to input everything on his side and it wouldn't accept it either.

Toys R' Us? I though they only sold video games and...toys!?
I have an almost 9 month old boy. He was using the iPad to play games by 6 months of age. The iPad *IS* one of his favorite toys and with it's education and entertainment potential, is certainly a good investment. I need to go because he's about to attack my keyboard. I'll give him the iPad to play with :)

They'll keep it going till 23rd October I reckon. Anniversary event I'm guessing + one of those cheesy white promo videos about the "first 10 years".
Well, we'll see.

So you think because it's wireless it will allow you do that? That's a big assumption. Charging was about the fact that wireless syncing at least for me only makes sense if you can charge at the same time (induction charging) otherwise it will be slow and battery draining. I sync my iPhone at least once a weak and i put 10-12 GB of music and videos on it everytime. For such amounts wireless sync is pointless. Of course people sync different amounts of data and at different frequencies, but they sync.
i think you are confused my friend... where did i ever say that? In fact earlier in this thread i said...
i feel like this would be a real battery killer... maybe not if you are just adding a few apps and cd's but when i sync ~6gb of music, contacts, calanders, apps, etc. it's a pretty long process over USB... don't even want to know how long it would take over wi-fi, nor would I want to sit around the house for a few hours to finish updating my phone all while the battery is getting raped.

later in the thread another poster said
Tying it to a single computer's iTunes has been a nuisance from time to time.
and you replied
So you never charge your iPhone or iPod?
what does being tied to a single iTunes account have to do with charging your iDevice?
______________________________________________________________________________________
As for wireless sync and inductive charging... dumb idea imo
so i can sync over wifi, which is going to be slow as hell, and i still have to keep my device on a charging pad or in a dock? Why wouldn't i just plug it into the damn computer to speed up the process?

For the people who thinks that Vista is too expensive:
Mac users: Spend more $ on hardware. Spend less $ on software.
Windows users: Spend more $ on software. Spend less $ on hardware.
What a shock the computing industry works both ways.

Screw this "beaming it over" nonsense.
Yes, that is a very nerdy/geeky thing to do. "Zune"-ing music wirelessly is only something geeks can come up with, whereas Steve's suggestion of sharing earbuds is so much cooler and, dare I say it, sexually suggestive! ;)

Safe predictions for the MB C2D:
2.16 GHz for the upper two models, 2.0 for the cheapest
~20MB larger hard drive
no difference in GPU
runs significantly cooler overall
Riskier bets:
1GB standard (but as two 512MB cards, unlike the MBP)
Price premium for black reduced to $100

I wish I lived closer to Apple, to be able to get sneak previews like this, and to be able to report on Apple News. One day I will prevail!
BTW, I cant wait for monday! Does anyone know what time the Keynote will be in Grenwich Mean Time (London). Just so I can log on and keep up with all the action.
Thanks.

It can cause a lot of problems when people misinterpret or don't understand it. And lots of modern believers do avoid reading the old testament, especially books of the law like Leviticus and Deuteronomy (because they can be hard to understand). "Jesus the Son of God" derives his very legitimacy through the alleged fulfilling of Old Testament prophecies. For a Christian to "avoid reading the old testament" is surely to deny his paternity.
For me personally, I enjoy reading the narratives of old testament figures like Abraham, David, Joshua, Moses, Solomon, Isaac, etc. etc. These people were far from perfect and much of what we learn from them is in taking note of the mistakes they made. It gives me comfort knowing that if God can use them then he can possibly use me despite the numerous mistakes I make. However, these people were Canaanites, worshipping the same pantheon as the other Canaanites, naming their sons after El and other Canaanite gods. The concept of monotheism was a late, exilic development. Throughout their pre-exilic history, the Hebrews in Israel and Judah were polytheistic. It says so on numerous occasions in the Old Terstament. The elohim of Genesis were "the gods": "let us make man in our own image". What can that possibly mean in a monotheistic cosmos?
As for the "Secular Bible", I think it's a misnomer to call it a "bible": surely it is a compendium of philosophy, a kind of eclectic ethical anthology, more akin to a shopping list than a rulebook for Life.

I don't know why people are going on and on about the $400 price for Windows Vista Ultimate version. That's a retail price, just like the $300 retail price for windows XP. Only an idiot would buy a retail version of windows when you can get the same full install (not an upgrade) oem version for a fraction of that price.
A retail version of Windows XP professional SP2 is $300 at compUSA and the OEM of XP pro SP2 is $130 at my local PC parts store.
Retail pricing isn't even worth discussing unless Microsoft decides to end oem sales of windows.

What's illogical about it?
Why should we subsidize the defense industry, a multi-multi-billion dollar expense to our government, merely to maintain some jobs?
Please show me the evidence that demonstrates that is a positive investment for our country.
show me, show me? ... if you can not see the value for the economy in the people that work in and around the Military ... from Mom and Pop stores to direct suppliers to the Military? ... and your solution is ...
I'd suggest that those who's careers are based on maintaining our military can file for unemployment and search the want ads just like everybody else.
like I said ... good thing you are not part of the decision process.

it really kinda sucks, I've been a mac fanboy for a long time. And finally the day has come when I can move on from the iBook G4 that I can barely use and this piece of crap http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Gx270-Intel-Desktop-installed/dp/B001O018Y2 now the time has come to get a Mac and they are taking their sweet time with the new stuff. Sure, they sued HTC, sure, they have the pointless iPad that doesn't support a bunch of stuff on the web, but they're leave the Mac out to dry. It makes me sad :(

It's about time Wal-Mart gets burned to the ground.
I hope that this pisses off the studios royally. The sooner we shift to a purely electronic method of distribution, the better everything is.
There's no way that Wal-Mart would stop selling DVDs, and what else could they possibly do? Raise prices?
It's retarded. Wal-Mart won't lose any substantial sum of money if iTunes carries movies from all the major houses. But they will lose tons if they stop selling DVDs.
This just seems really foolish to me. They're not in a good position (for once). Granted, it could hurt the studios for a while, but people want to see movies more than they want to shop at Wal-Mart, methinks.

I seem to remember Wal-Mart's CEO saying in a CNBC show that his company doesn't bully vendors.....what a load.
Yes, my publishing company does business with WalMart and they do intimidate and bully. For sure.
I avoid shopping there at all costs.

I was really hoping for an iPhone this summer, but my contract w/ another company runs until 11/30/11 anyway. It's going to be a pain dealing w/ this HTC Hero for the rest of the year, but if the iPhone 5 comes with LTE to be "future-proofed", so to speak, I'll be pretty happy to wait. Having to wait until 2012, though, will be painful. Hopefully it's a fall release to rev up for the holidays.

i think i would rather read a paperback
wouldnt the screen strain the eyes?
I've been reading books on a Palm Tungsten T5 for a couple of years now.
It's a lot easier to carry around 75+ books in it than on paper.
And at night, my wife isn't kept away with a light on in the room, as long as I don't keep the T5 in front of her face.
With a bigger screen, a "bookPod" should be just as good.
