I don't get why everyone is complaining about the icon in the dock, all they changed was the color of the eighth note. It wasn't that big a deal.

Yes, I like to have it all with me.
I listen to music for 9 hours a day when I'm at work and used to get frustrated with my old 60GB iPod photo because I only had half of my collection with me. I've had my 160GB classic since 2007 and I'm now down to my last 5GB of free space.
A new 220GB classic in September would be perfect timing. :D
I guess we will have to agree to disagree on the music/iPod thing, as I listen to my iPhone for 8+ hrs a day and find 5200 songs overkill. I will agree with you on this; if I had all the money I'd spent on drink, I'd spend it on drink.
Cheers!

New nanos would be nice. I promised my girlfriend a new mid-range nano, as soon as they were updated, for her birthday - and that was two weeks ago... hopefully she can get her birthday present within a month of her birthday... :)

If there's going to be a preview release at WWDC, does that not mean that we could seeing a full release very soon? As in, later this year?

As I eagerly await delivery of my first iPad, I know that I want an iPod that will only play music. When I am exercising, I don't want to receive phone calls or emails, I just want music, and I want a device that will hold all of my 12,145 songs, with room to grow.
I don't needs apps, I don't want communication...I just want music.
Airplane mode?

For those that have been asking... the browser and equalizer aren't gone, they're just both under the View menu now.
Whew, I was a little worried there for a second.
What's the point of removing the Button on the lower right for the EQ and Visualizer? It's not like there is not enought space. Some times i wonder what they are smoking over there.

If the black thing in the picture is the Intel Core Duo 2 and previous reports say that the new PowerMacs will be using a Xeon processor then Apple would have to announce something else, maybe Core Duo 2 MacBook Pros or iMacs. But that is only if the previous reports are true.....

While the content isn't available yet. The fact that its listed prob means that they are close to putting it up.
That screen shot looks a little fishy, like an AMG and Muze database dump. The Vee Jay and Thunderbolt albums seem odd for a deal with EMI.

If this is true then Apple has played their cards well. And if they were in place to release the iPhone and full screen iPod by Thanksgiving then they would really make a killing this holiday season. But getting the entire line-up refreshed is awesome.
I hope they eventually make a 15" MacBook and a 13" MacBook Pro. I think they are in a good spot to expand the line-up to cover a larger base of consumers. They're not dummies, the iBook/PowerBook line-up was great.

I just bought a Macbook Pro literally 5 minutes ago. I've been waiting for months and I finally gave up. After the order was completed, I thought I'd check macrumors just for laughs and the first thing I saw was, "new macbook pros tomorrow?" :(
Relax and enjoy your machine...at most, it's gonna be a speed bump and some new ports, nothing else...not to mention that so far, only hoaxes have published around. I figure Apple is gonna take a while to launch the new MBPs this time...

All gloves are off. Apple has been anticipating this moment for a long time, waiting for Microsoft got in the game to raise the stakes. There's a reason Apple hasn't updated the iPod in so long; they didn't want to tip their hand to Microsoft. As soon as Zune hits the market, Apple will counter with iPod 2.0:
-large screen covering the full face
-touch technology that's activated as you hover your fingers over it
-new Nvidea-powered multimedia chip capable of doing video and 3D
-classic Nintendo games
-eBook reader
-wireless capabilities (I'm not sold on the usefulness of this yet)
This is exciting times...

wednesday is sooo the new tuesday!
Id guess one of 2 things:
they wanted to give the spotlight to election day
or they decided to release it, cause the cat was so far out of the bag already.

Putting aside the fact that Flash is crap....
On Macs. It's great on PCs. Isn't it ironic - Silverlight, MS's alternative to Flash, is better in Safari than Flash is.

Based on the way flash uses up resources on my MBA, I really don't want it on my iPhone.
If I really need it, I can wait till I get home and open it up on my desktop.

It sure would suck if you need matching ID and company credentials to get your pass - like they do with CES.
From the FAQ:
You will be required to present your passport or other government-issued photo identification before being admitted to WWDC. Please make sure you bring your identification with you, as you will not be admitted without it.
and
Conference badges are not transferable. The full conference fee will be charged to replace a lost badge.
When you register you get an activation code. I think any other Dev can use it because I purchased mine with my MobileMe account and then activated it with my ADC account. Those accounts are not linked as far as I know.

What's your GPU?
Apple 5770 because you can't use regular ATI 5x with DP + DP to mini-DP adapter under Osx or even ATI 5770 Eyefinity 5 (5 mini DP) or 5870 Eyefinity 6 (6 mini DP). The ports are simply not working under Osx although they are in windows.
An other solution would be to use the Atlona AT DP-400 converter and any other framebuffer / injector / Dsdt capable gpu... I went with the apple card because of the small fee gap ( 40$) and also to upgrade my old 8800GT.

I don't recall massive outcry from the devs on those other platforms. Why do you think that is?
For Nintendo back in the 80's, there was massive outcry. Not only did they gatekeep but they had a high licensing fee and capped the number of releases per year per developer. So yeah, devs were pissed. Atari even lied to the patent office just so they could reverse engineer the lockout chip (and got sued for it).
So if you don't recall, you probably weren't paying attention

London is not representative of the rest of the UK at all. It skews almost every figure released that is related to population. I've never seen anyone with a gun, I don't know anyone with a gun and I doubt I ever will.
This is always going to be the case when a single city has over 12% of the country's population.
Exactly. You're more likely to know someone with a gun if you live in the countryside anyway. The only people I saw holding guns in London were two Police Officers on the beat around Waterloo Station when I used to walk to work from Waterloo to Piccadilly Circus and outside the US Embassy when I went for my visa interview last month. Oh, also one of my dad's ex coworkers had a gun, but he was in an armed response unit in the police, so I guess that doesn't really count.
