Sent an email to 20 of my friends @ work to that and following up with them.
Some of my friends got the response saying that they are getting lot of calls and your name is added to MI phone list.

I can't really answer your question without more details, but here are some factors to consider:
1. You can adjust status using a section of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) called 245k if you did not violate status for more than 180 days between your last lawful entry to the US and filing the 485. If you were in lawful status when the 485 was filed, or hadn't violated it for over 180 days, you may be OK.
2. You cannot stay in status by "piggybacking" one filing on another pending filing. Therefore, if your H-1B status #1 expired, #2 was pending and meanwhile your employer filed H-1B #3, the #3 does not keep you in status.

Have you gone out of the country and came back to USA on H1B visa after that ?
If so, you are safe. Status is checked from the last lawful entry into US ( entry using AP does not help).

Just throw away your legal papers. change your name, show your photograph with the statue of liberty and declare yourself illegal in the country for last 5 years. go to school, enjoy a better in-state tuition and get a better job. Green Card Voila!!!!
Dream act just proves that nothing will be done for hard working non shitizens. Legals should work and wait or leave as they dont have any DREAM. And yes we got a spineless president on that.

You can stay out side for 3 years in a 5 year period.

On exploring this topic further, I found that, at times, DOL conducts an audit to check if the employer paid the proffered wage to the beneficiary after GC approval. In case of a violation, DOL bans the employer from processing further H1’s or GC’s.
On rare occasions, USCIS revokes previously approved GC’s in case of fraud.
Also during naturalization, USCIS checks the duration of employment with the GC position after I-485 approval. Naturalization might be denied if the duration of employment is very short.

Changing employers on EAD after 180 days, this is what I heard
We need to update the 485 file by sending in the following documents
(1) Last paystub of previous employer
(2) New employment letter
(3) First paystub of current employer
You can be without getting paid in between jobs but may have to be quick. A lot of people when they decide to change jobss on EAD, take a vacation from work for a month or so, come back and work for the last paystub and then move to a new job.
Can you do multiple jobs and start ur business on EAD ? I don;'t know, maybe someone else could answer this

The answer to the FAQ clearly states that you should be fine and expect some processing delays. I am not sure what else you would like to know.
What I am looking for is how do they physically transfer the application? I am afraid of dealing with another incompetent organization such as USPS. Also, what type of processing delays should I expect?

The address listed on the E-file generated receipt/Document is P.O. BOX 852401 in Mewquite, TX 75185. Is there another physical address of USCIS for e-filers of EAD to send the supporting documents by courier/FedEx.

As others have already mentioned each state has a different rule. Based on your state, you may be eligible for unemployment benefits. But what is more important is that now you are saying you do not have a job by claiming unemployment. Green Cards are for future job. If you are on unemployment compensation, how would you prove your eligibility for green card if questioned.
Dependent family members can avail unemployment without much concern of jeopardizing their Green Card.

My self and my wife both are on H1B. Both are working for different companies.
I filled I 485, EAD and AP through my company, for my self and my wife.
Questions:
1) I am the primary person. After getting the EAD, Is it possible, If my wife can open a consulting company with her name?
2) After opening a consulting company on her name, Is it possible, she can leave her H1B employer and run her own paystubs on her own company.
Your help will be really appreciated. :)

If you get laid off, find a company at a rate that will meet your minimum LCA wages requirement for H1B (W2) or EAD (I will approximate the wages mentioned in labor document). I think you have 30 days of buffer, but I will find something right away.
