can anyone recommend an external DVD burner that works well with OS X? Specifically, one that intergrates well with the iLife programs. Thanks

I heard that T-mobile still has the $29.99/month plan at the store (not online), 500 whenever minutes + unlimited night, weekend and mobile to mobile.

Calibrate your monitor!
Maybe do some research before you say that:
276541
A color sampled from the Graphite button with RGB values of 81 / 92 / 108.
276542
The same color, showing that it has a blueish hue.

Go back to the store with an AT&T Wireless phone and press *ID (*43) and hold the phone up to the headphones for 15 sec and it will text message you the name/artist of the song.
Now that is wicked cool. Hadn't heard of it.

The "right" amount is a bit subjective. WinXP requires 1.5GB of space, but you'll also need room for additional hardware drivers, room for temporary space/virtual memory, and room for games. You'll need to consider how much space your games will need. On my 500GB HDD, I partitioned off 100GB. It's not nearly enough for all the games in my library, but it allows me to have several of them installed while running Win 7.
However, I don't think there's a right answer that anyone other than you can provide. Also, read the Bootcamp message and make sure it supports WinXP. I know the 2011 MBPs do not.
Is there an echo in here? :)
Good point about no official support for XP on current Macs--Win 7 only, if I'm not mistaken. Though, if you google around, it seems possible to get most things working. Would be a little easier, I think, on a desktop than a laptop.
Happy computing.

I think if we were going to see a Blu Ray drive offered, it would have been part of the Mac Pro updates last week, so I'm doubting that's pending soon. There are third party drives available, though.
3G iPhone has been expected for this Summer at earliest all along, so I'd expect an announcement at WWDC in June with immediate or very soon availability. If there's not a 16GB by then I'd expect one then. We'll most likely know 100% when it's coming too, because the FCC filings have to be submitted months in advance.

Well, a couple things to consider...
1) Make sure the 360 supports 1080p over VGA (it didn't used to, but they did update it last year, so it might now).
2) There's a very good likelihood that the 360 isn't rendering 1080p (or even 1080i) for most/any games. It's probably rendering at 540p60 and scaling that to 1080i30 or 1080i60. For 1080p it's probably upscaling 720p. Point is that if your set has a good scaler/deinterlacer for 1080i to 1080p (which it very probably does) using 1080i over component is probably going to look just as good as HDMI.
EDIT: Oops, realized you were asking about HDDVD as well as games - which means the 360 is doing "real" 1080p. If you are serious about HDDVD movies you should probably consider the HDMI equipped connection, just in case they decide to turn on the token constraint flags.

of course, taking them in to a photo shop is always an option, but for alot of photos, it becomes more cost-effective to buy your own scanner. Was just wondering which was considered to have especially good color fidelity.

Okay so there chip technology is a little below the bar of the other generic drones.
But everything else there doing is way ahead of everyone else.

This happens from time to time with some of my e-mail accounts, too... It happens because the server is down, for whatever reason... I normally just hit 'escape' and let the account be offline for a while (you'll see a ~ symbol or a ! in a triangle next to the accounts inbox (and all folders on an IMAP account)). Then when you assume the server is back up you just hit the ~ and then 'check mail', and assuming you keep your password on the keychain you will not have to re-enter the password (if the server requests it, chances are it's still down, just try again a bit later). If the sign is the ! then you'll, get a 'go online' question...

To be honest, I'd probably get more excited over any optics that Nokia will bring to WP7.

You know I just pointed out that common mistake, typo. I didnt laugh or anything.
But now I shat brix...
It's completely fine to correct people, even if it was just a typo or other innocent mistake. I don't mind if someone corrects me, as long as he is right :) You also added something to the discussion so it wasn't a "useless" comment either.

- Internal HDD/SSD. By making a new partition and installing it there.
- External HDD/SSD. Erased HDD and just installed it.

I do like my Logitech MX 700 and I would never go back to one button but... as with many things these days (hope I don't sound old) but the logitech lacks build quality. For example the silver paint on the body/buttons is rubbing off and so it looks a bit battered. The charger unit has its moments when the mouse just doesn't want to charge. And to us Brits the power adapter is wired in upside down.
