I would nt think that our lobby firms opinion would be made public....it may be dterimental to our cause, as anti-immigrant groups may use that information to their advantage.

Dont engage in such Cliche mentality,tell the significance of the festival, I dont understand most of the Indian Parents are engaged in propogating such a behavior in kids. Instill strong character,values and traditions in your kids.Not this kind of half baked crap.

BTW - I140 has to be filed by a sponsor Company and as far as I485 is concerned, you can do it on ur own, but it has to be based off of LC and I140 approvals which are with your Company..so its very difficult to file 485 on ur own..
Sounds like somegchuh wants to know this to be ready with documentation when his Company is ready to file for 140/485 ( some day)

1. LC
2. I-140
3. Medicals
4. I-485

I am confuse. Please explain.
in my opinion, the consul will consider lc filing as proof of immigrant intent. remember lc is the first step towards getting a green card so you're intention is to get a green card.
my advise is, if ever you decide you want to push through with your lc plan or change of status from b2 (tourist) to h1 (working), you must stay in the US until you get your gc. never ever visit the US embassy of your home country coz they'll definitely ask you about it and most likely, they'll ban you from entering the US permanently. once again, this is just my opinion. hope this one helps.

Will I be breaking any laws if I just do voluntary marketing and promotional work for my company in India.

My clients will be in USA and they will be paying my company in India. I will be on the board of the company , and will be doing voluntary marketing and promotional work for the company while residing in USA.
Thank you for your time.
Your H-1b must be sponsored by a US company. H-1b terms require you to gainfully work only for that employer. As long as your US tax returns do not show any other source of income and show you have been working fulltime for your sponsoring employer, you should be fine.
They do not bother with foreign wages or what you do with your free time ( as long as it inot a second job).

My experience is that you can't collect your passport same day of your interview. After your interview, your visa will be approved. But your passport will get to VFS hand only after 2 business days. You might have to stay in Chennai for 2 days after your interview to be able to collect the passport from VFS counter in Chennai. I had same issue. I was suppose to be in US day after interview and passport was struck between consulate and VFS. I ended up coming to US 3 days after my initial Plan. Good luck. This is my experience from Nov 2006.

YES...!!!! You have to leave this country on/before your L1 expires. Since your H1b was filed from out side US, it din't come with an I-94.
So go back to india by taking an apointment for visa and re-enter with new H1b approval along with new i-94.
2. Can i work for company B with my H1B approval.??
No you cannot.
3. To start my new job, do my employer should change my status
Once you return back from india, your status automaticaly changes to H1b.
4. If going for stamping do my dependents also should join me.

As per my attorney, even if you enter the country on AP, your status can still remain H1, if you are using it to work (instead of EAD).
