I don't think those iPhone shots are real, and I'm not all that hopeful that a phone will be released on Monday, but if an Apple phone is released I will be as excited as I have ever been for an Apple release. Just imagine the syncing perfection and coolness factor.

If you plan to upgrade the RAM anyhow - go for the 2.0 model. It has Superdrive (DL), 1 Gig RAM, 4 MB Processor cache (instead of 2MB for the 1.83) and bigger HD.
The 1.83 Model is CRAP
Ya, the only update on the 1.83 is the 64bitness!

Buddy of mine just started a new weekend brunch at his bar and asked me to take some photos today. We devoured the 8 plates of food and had a couple bloodies. It was a good time. :D

I don't mean to sound dumb, well to be honest I can't help it :p
But just how much space is this time machine going to eat up?
If it stores a backup of everything, that's going to get huge in a hurry. For example. What happens if I have a 400 MB video file and I make 20 changes, and save the file after every change.
I could see this growing to be a storage monster if it keeps every iteration of everything that I do. That 400 MB video would take up 8GB in my time machine, with 20 copies of it. Do that 100 times over a couple of years and that just gets nuts
Is it only going to store the actual changes and not the whole file again? This is making my head spin, could someone explain how it's going to store backups physically? I know it's not even out yet, but I figure that one of you really smart people already know how this will work. (You're all smarter than me hehe)
Thanks in advance :)

FLASH
Apple does not care to support flash on their devices because it is horribly inefficient and has been holding back progression of the internet for over a decade. Instead of using much more efficient open standards that the world wide web is founded upon, companies like Adobe and Microsoft are more interested in locking you into their inferior technologies in order to maintain revenue! Until Flash dies Apple will continue to support the progression of the internet using approved standards!
FLASH SUCKS! GO SUCK ONE ADOBE! :p
Drinking from the Apple koolaid again, huh?
Perhaps if you pulled your head out of SJ's bum long enough to look around, you'd notice the vast majority of iPhone users are being punished in Apple's attempt to mold the internet in it's own image.
A large number of websites use flash in their design, and are completely inaccessible without flash support. Inefficient or not, that's fact, and we're the losers here.

When I just upgraded through iTunes on Mac, after downloading for a second it flashed "Verifying iPhone with Apple".
Has that been there before? Did I miss it in the past?
Been that way for a while.

Sorry, just stating facts. Flash is a horribly inferior technology and has crippled the web from a much greater potential. I honestly have not missed it at all on my iPhone and I block it with ClickToFlash on my Macs. I would GLADLY forgo Flash if Apple can kill it forever. Web developers need to use approved open standards and stop using Flash as a crutch. And if by Apple's own image, you mean far superior open standards that are approved by the W3C, then yes!
Frankly, the vast majority of users, and developers, and content providers, DO NOT care what you personally want, no matter how much you roll your eyes.
Flash is on virtually every computer on Earth, and pretty soon it will be on virtually every smart phone as well. Except the iPhone, of course.
Flash works very well, for the vast majority of users. The fact that Apple has not expended the minimum effort required to get Flash working more efficiently in OS X, is mostly problem for only those relatively few of us, who prefer to use Mac OS.
(In my testing on OS 10.6.1, Safari is by far the worst of all browsers at handling Flash: it pushes the CPU to 77%, while Firefox and Camino stay at less than 49%. Safari is also by far the worst on Windows 7, where on the same video it runs to almost 30% of CPU, while IE8 is at 1%, and Firefox and Chrome are at 4%.
The vast majority of users enjoy what Flash provides.
And, Flash does things which would be impossible, or very hard, or prohibitively expensive, to do with other currently available technologies, and deploy them for all browsers and systems.
So, I repeat: the rest of the world DOES NOT care, that you, and a handful of weird backroom guys, have an irrational hatred of Flash. Move on.
The bottom line is, if Apple doesn't get Flash on the iPhone, it will quickly lose market share to Android. It's a HUGE missing feature, bigger than cut/paste and turn-by turn navigation and mms rolled together, and you can bet it will be advertised as such.

What about Google I/O then? It was sold in just 59 minutes!

I am sure if Apple only charged $500 for WWDC they could have matched it.

Apple restricts use of technologies required by products like Flash Player. Until Apple eliminates these restrictions, Adobe cannot provide Flash Player for the iPhone or iPod Touch.
People don't care about Flash Player itself, they just want the ability to play video in the browser, which the iPhone is perfectly capable of doing. So instead of lobbying Apple for Flash support we should be lobbying web developers for video tag support.
I support this idea. I believe this is the same way Apple looks at it.

I say iTunes Movie Store and new iPod nanos. Possibly a rev of the iMacs, since they were the first ones to go Intel.
I really don't see a new iPod with video, but I could be wrong... i was last year when the 5G came out.
Steve is holding a special media event, I think we'll see some exciting music based stuff.

Intel will be releasing Merom next spring, AND an ultra-low voltage version for tiny laptops.
I assume you mean they will release Santa Rosa (a chipset, not a cpu) next spring?

Again as I stated before... Apple is really starting to dabble in the 3D interface. The album art is a good example of this. Granted its a rip off of someone else's idea...No idea of the name of the app but I was playing around with it a few months back that did exactly this. *shrugs* Whatever.
Do you mean CoverFlow? Yeah, its the same. And if by "rip off someone else's idea" you mean Apple bought CoverFlow and incorporated it into iTunes. This was already mentioned earlier in this thread, but here's a link: http://www.steelskies.com/coverflow/
BTW: The iTunes phone driver is for the Motorola ROKR E1, SLVR L7 and RAZR V3i.

If they build it from scratch, they could probably design the place with working conditions that don't make people as suicidal (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1104449&referrerid=51132).

I think I figured out what is bothering me so much with the UI (other than the flash-like scroll bars):
Every aspect of iTunes uses Apple's system font, EXCEPT for the iTunes Store - all of a sudden it's Arial, or Helvetica, or something...it really throws me off. All of the Mac OS (not just iTunes) uses Lucida Grande, except for the store.
Very strange, and un-apple looking.

I am very bummed that exploration has been so very artificially limited in Reach. If I can see it, and not die falling to it, I should be able to get to it, not die because I need to stay in the game world....
Also, I really am not connecting with the story at all. Oh, and with subtitles on, there sure are only a few rare times when they are used during gameplay.... The voices are so low that I do not hear them, and miss what I am supposed to do, or why.

Can someone give me some idea when the Apple Store Birmingham UK will get the new nano's in stock?
You could always call the store and ask... Might be quicker and more accurate than waiting for someone else from MR to answer.
Also some questions... (continued from my post on the previous page)
Is there anyway to get the new earbuds? The original buds do not fit my (small) ears, and I would like to try something new. Right now I'm using some Sony (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=4503996&st=headphones&lp=10&type=product&cp=2&id=1051806136350) over-the-head headphones.
Will there be a software update that will bring gapless playback and the other new features to the original nanos?
Will the original nano dock work with the new nanos?

so were there long lines at radio shack ? how much is the apple care pk
Lets say they opened at 7:30. I arrived at 6:45 and there were two people there. There were about 10 by 7:30. So not very big line, but then again I think they only received about two of each model/color, except no 64GB models.

I'm just glad they are not trying to run this on the 3G. I can barely keep the phone running as it is. I wish they would come out with a throwback OS for the older phones. Something to stop the constant freezing.
Just a few more months, then maybe an Iphone 5 takes away my pain. :D
